Prosthodontics

Effective treatment requires proper diagnosis. Diagnosis requires both clinical and radiological evaluation, while examining casts and diagnostic waxing are necessary when we have significant works in the mouth.  The examining casts provide us with the chance to examine information in a patient's mouth without his normal presence as much as we choose, whilst the diagnostic waxing allows us and the patient the opportunity to see the actual result of the procedure we intended to do and agree about our future actions together. It is an extraordinary diagnostic and predictive tool with no special high price for patients who do not want question marks and want predictable aesthetic results of high quality.

As time passes on, dentures need to be re-adjusted, mainly to add or eliminate content in several places so they can fit the changes in the underlying bone.Depending on the situation, this procedure may be completed either immediately in the clinic or, if assistance from the dental laboratory is available, in 1-2 working days.

A direct total denture are the total prosthodontic restorations that are constructed before the extraction of the remaining teeth, in order to be placed into the mouth right after the teeth's extraction. In this way the patient is not left (natural or artificial) without any teeth at all.

Partial denture is a removable prosthodontic restore that replaces one or more missing natural teeth with the surrounding tissues (gums and bone). These restorations are supported in the remaining natural teeth or / and in the gums and underlying bone, while the patient himself has to remove them regularly to clean them.

A total denture substitutes for all the upper and/or lower jaw teeth. Artificial teeth are supported in a pink acrylic plate that supports the gums and the bone underlying them. A total denture can be a one-way street, when the teeth have been missing for a long time, the jaw bone has been largely atrophied and there are also severe general health problems due to the advanced age of the patient. Consequently, implant placement is problematic. Total dentures can also be supported, for better restraint and less expansion on the palate, in a small number of implants or / and in the natural teeth roots.

Zirconium crown is an esthetic prosthodontic restore that simulates a tooth and is made of zirconium, a durable white-tint material. There is no metal on it, and we have a cosmetic result that is natural and of high quality, while at the same time it has long endurance. They are usually used in the front teeth, succeeding in a very impressive smile, but also in the back teeth, since they have long lasting resistance.

Metal ceramic or metal porcelain crowns are prosthodontic overall coverage restorations that simulate teeth and are made of metal frame on their inside and aesthetic porcelain material on the outside. The ceramic material 's color simulates the nearby teeth, while they also have great breaking endurance.

In some cases with very damaged tooth that a single dental filling is not going to have very successful results, we can construct a dental inlay or onlay for the restored tooth in corporation with the dental laboratory. Finally, the dental inlay or onlay bonds with the tooth, while its construction material is made of metal, composite resin or porcelain, depending on the tooth's indications and contraindications.

The most conservative aesthetic prosthodontic restoration in dentistry, is porcelain veneers. It has a thickness of just 0,5 mm, made from white porcelain material and only covers the front surface of the tooth (just as we see it). They are usually placed in the front teeth, where we have high aesthetic requirements, so we follow a beautiful smile with minimal tooth cutting. Their construction technique is very sensitive, yet the selection of the teeth, to place those veneers, is subject to certain conditions.

All-ceramic crown is an aesthetic prosthodontic restoration that simulates a tooth and is made from (white) ceramic material throughout. It does not contain metal at all, and provides an esthetic result of high quality and naturalness. It is usually built to be placed in the front teeth, where we have high esthetic standards to succeed an impressive smile.
